The gunmen also killed the Sarkin Fawa (Head of local vigilante) who was on his way back to the village. The bandits attacked Gwaska village about 2:30 p.m., residents of the council said. This came barely 48 hours after the Inspector-General of Police, IGP and Mohammed Mohammed, General Officer Commanding (GOC), 1 Division, Nigerian Army, Kaduna, visited Birnin Gwari.
